VISION
Celebrating queer culture, connecting our community, inspiring your creativity.
Mission
Andro and Eve create unique, feel good, accessible events that celebrate queer culture. We programme arts and culture focusing on voices that are otherwise marginalised within the LGBTQIA community. We provide opportunities for people to come together, develop their understanding, and share in memorable experiences.
Values
Unique & Playful
We create high quality events and products with a sense of play, and believe creativity needs space, time and resources in order to flourish.
Representative & Accessible
We programme artistic content that is representative of a broad range of identities and experiences, and aim to create spaces that are accessible to all.
Empowering and Proud
We are proud of our lived experiences and aim to create opportunities that empower others to embrace their full selves and develop their own creativity, skills and talents.
OUR STORY
Andro and Eve is a queer arts organisation based in Sheffield. Our programme provides inclusive and accessible projects and events for the LGBTQ+ community and allies to enjoy queer culture, and connect with one another in Sheffield and across South Yorkshire.
Andro and Eve operates as a not for profit social enterprise with a board of volunteer non executive directors who represent the community we serve and help strategically guide the organisation.
Andro and Eve was originally created in 2016, in response to a lack of accessible offers to enjoy queer culture in Sheffield. Andro & Eve are the creators of Sheffield’s first drag king cabaret, The Kingdom Come, and queer party series A Reyt Queer Do.
We have collaborated with organisations including The Civic, Barnsley, Ghetto Fabulous, Site Gallery, Our Mel, SheFest Sheffield, Rainbow Noir, Theatre Deli Sheffield, and Cast in Doncaster.
Since 2020, in response to COVID-19, our creative workshop offer has included an online delivery model, and we have published three zines featuring the voices of LGBTQ+ people from across the North of England. Since 2021 we have offered Gender Awareness Training, delivering this online and in person to organisations across the UK.
Andro and Eve was originally co-founded by Finn Warman and Rhiannon Scutt.
What Our Audience say
‘Had a fantastic evening at Kingdom Come #3 in Sheffield. The acts were amazing, but also the organisers were lovely and genuinely disability friendly. It was the first place I’d felt welcomed rather than barely tolerated in a long time. I’m a bit in love with everyone involved and can’t wait for the next one’.
