Gender Beyond the Binary Online Training

This online interactive session is designed to pass on knowledge and best practice, enabling you to better serve and meet the needs of clients, customers and audiences of all genders, particularly those who are gender expansive or non binary. This session looks at the experiences of people who are non-binary and gender expansive within the UK and in a global context. Topics covered include language and terminology, intersectionality, non binary identities, the links between binary gender and colonial legacies, non binary equality and the law. Learning Outcomes - You will;
  • Feel more confident in their knowledge about the experiences of people who are non-binary and the diversity of non-binary identities.
  • Understand what gender expansive and inclusive language means in the context of people whose gender is not binary or fixed.
  • Learn about the history of non-binary genders, rights and the links between binary gender systems and colonial legacies.
  • Understand how a binary sex and gender system shapes non-binary lives, and explore how these systems might be challenged for a more inclusive society. 
Each participant will take away a resource pack with content covered in the session along with further advice and resources The session is 2.5 hours long with two comfort breaks built in. Places are limited in order to facilitate meaningful group discussions. Book Via Eventbrite.
